RoHS Compliant - also known as Lead - Free, under Directive 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union restricts the use of six hazardous materials. All applicable products for the EU market are RoHS compliant.
Frequently, contraband is covertly hidden in inaccessible areas, such as walls, tires, bulkheads, etc., where direct observation is not possible. The Hitech-Xpose gives an indication of contraband concealed in these locations by measuring changes in density across the target area. Unexpected changes indicate the presence of hidden objects or compartments.
The ruggedized Hitech-Xpose unit has been designed with an ergonomic grip which may be used in either hand, anti-scratch detection surface, integrated safety wrist strap and a large, easy-to-read, illuminated graphical & numerical display.
In order to make SAS-Hitech-Xpose the toughest density meter on the market, we do not use polycarbonate lens on the display which all other manufacturers use, we use a Corning "Gorilla Glass" lens. It does not scratch or shatter, and is not easily broken, Engineered for a combination of thinness, lightness, and damage-resistance, it is used primarily as the cover glass for portable electronic devices including mobile phones, laptop computer displays, and some television screens. Corning Inc., says that Gorilla Glass' material's primary properties are its high scratch resistance (protective coating), and its hardness (with a Vickers hardness test rating of 622 to 701) — which allows thin glass without fragility.
Hitech-Xpose is lightweight (more than 20 percent lighter than other contraband detectors) and designed for ambidextrous operation, it has two main modes of operation – Survey, for indication of radiation sources in the vicinity and Inspect, for contraband detection. SAS-Hitech-Xpose flexible readout options include a wireless remote control tablet for ease of use in tight inspection locations and a USB port for connection with a computer. The remote control tablet is fully functioning and will operate all features of the Hitech Xpose, as well as accept any programs or information that the client wishes to add.
The standard Hitech-Xpose is water resistant to IP56 (IEC Standard 60529) which offers dust and water resistance – Also available -to special order only- a totally waterproof version of this unit which is manufactured in certain minimum quantities only. Please request more information.
In survey mode, SAS-Hitech-Xpose acts as a radiation survey meter to locate sources of radioactive material, providing real-time, local radiation rate and count. Results are shown in graphical and numeric format.
In inspect mode, SAS-Hitech-Xpose acts a density meter to locate contraband, it incorporates a large CsI (TI) detector for faster scanning, improved penetration, and quicker indication of “hits” triggered by an abrupt change in density. The operator can select to display readings in graphical or numerical format and with or without alarm. There is also an option to display the current reading with background zeroed out.
SAS-Hitech-Xpose uses a common, built-in calibration block that enables universal calibration across similar SAS-Hitech-Xpose Contraband Detector models. After calibration, all units will read +/- 2% of each other. The calibration automatically compensates for decay of the source and aging of internal components. The calibration routine runs in under 30 seconds.
The Hitech-Xpose Contraband Detector is equipped with software and internal memory to store search data for up to 100 of the most recent scans. Each scan contains the 30 second count rate plus a time stamp. Search data can be uploaded to the user’s personal computer using the Xpose Tools software toolkit.
Individual Scan Records are stored for use in evidence, quality and training purposes.
